Ronald Andro appointed President and CEO of West Penn Hospital

Allegheny Health Network has announced the appointment of Ronald Andro as the new President and CEO of West Penn Hospital. He will assume responsibilities on June 1st from Duke Rupert who has transitioned to the same role at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville.

Mr. Andro joined Allegheny Health Network (AHN) in 2013, serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Allegheny General Hospital (AGH). While under his guidance, AGH oversaw the operational income grow from $28M to $92M in two years and the emergency department metrics improve significantly.

Mayor Peduto Invites You!

Make your voice heard! In June, the city will hold two Capital Budget Deliberative Forums that give residents the chance to learn more about what goes into the City’s Capital Budget, discuss needs and priorities in a small-group setting, and ask questions of an expert panel.

Residents will also have the chance to let the City know of specific Capital work in their neighborhoods that they would like to see done in 2016.

Bloomfield Saturday Market Ends on a High Note

The weather was gloomy but spirits ran high last Saturday at the last Bloomfield Saturday Market of 2014. 6 large rented heaters gave everyone in attendance a chance to warm up, particularly our volunteers and vendors who soldiered through 5 hours or more outside.

We went out with a bang, our attendance hitting 755 and the children’s activities of pumpkin ring toss and cookie decorating a big hit. Brad Yoder played for more than three hours in the wind,
